Virginian Pilot January 13, 1981

John Reginald Myers, 73, of 1301 Sparrow Road, the husband of Mrs. Lillian Ethel 
Hill Myers and a retired Postal Service employee, died Monday in a Hampton 
hospital.
He was born in Chicago and lived in Tidewater for 50 years. He was a Coast Guard 
veteran of World War II and a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 
26. He was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church.
Other survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Jennette Bouda of Chicago, Mrs. Wanda 
Purvis of Alexandria, La., Mrs. Alfreda Wood of Norfolk and Mrs. Tillie Messa of 
Cedarburg, Wis.; two brothers, Leonard Pazur of Norfolk and Longin Pazur of 
Fairfield, Calif.; and nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Matthew's Catholic 
Church by the Rev. Fr. James Guttenorf. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial 
Park, Norfolk, with Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, in charge. 
The family suggests that flowers be omitted and memorial donations may be made 
to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice.
