Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, March 5, 2002 
Mary Frances Myrick , 80, of the 2700 block of Kimball Terrace, died March 2,
2002, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Clennie and Estella Cartwright. Mrs. Myrick was
a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and a retired LPN for the U.S. government. She
was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1939, and a
graduate of the first colored class of Norfolk City Schools and Norfolk General
Hospital of Practical Nursing, graduating Class of 1963.

Mrs. Myrick was predeceased by her husband, James C. Myrick Sr.; her parents,
Estella Cartwright and Clennie Nash Cartwright Sr.; her brother, Clennie Nash
Cartwright III; and her daughter, Audrey E. Myrick .

She is survived by a son, James ``Bubba'' Myrick of Chesapeake; an adopted
daughter, Angela J. Darby of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.

A wake service will be held Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Hale Funeral Home,
2100 Ballentine Blvd. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. the day
of the service. The family will meet at the residence at 11 a.m. for the
procession to the church. The funeral will be held Thursday at noon at Shiloh
Baptist Church, Dr. John Foster officiating.
