Virginian Pilot July 29, 1990

Ethel Johnakin Myrick, 97, of the 3900 block of Llewellyn Ave., died July 27, 
1990, in a health care center.
Mrs. Myrick, a native of Norfolk, was a member of Freemason Street Baptist 
Church and Norfolk Woman's Club. She was the widow of Orin D. Myrick Sr.
Survivors include a daughter, Mildred M. Hirschfeld of Berlin, Md.; a son, Orin 
D. Myrick Jr. of Baltimore; a sister, Lena J. Foster of Norfolk; a brother, 
Richard Johnakin of Baltimore; four grandchildren; and eight great-
grandchildren.
The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Elmwood Cemetery by 
the Rev. Donald J. Dunlap. Memorial donations may be made to the church. Cox 
Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
