Virginian-Pilot February 13, 1952
Mrs. Lucia Devereux Smith Nash, widow of Francis Fitzhugh Nash and daughter of 
the date Cosmos F. and Mrs. Mary Devereux Smith, died yesterday at 9:20 a.m. at 
a Norfolk hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Norfolk, residing at 721 
Raleigh Avenue at the time of her death.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. William P. Egerton, Sr., of Norfolk; Mrs. 
Hal Costolo, of Washington, and Mrs. Rogers D. Whichard, of Norfolk; two sons, 
William Lee Nash, of New York, and C. Albert Nash, of Norfolk; eight cousins, 
Miss Inez Burrow and Mrs. John Sellers Garrett, of Norfolk; Miss Virginia 
Braxton Burrow, of Wilmington, Del.; Alan G. Burrow, of Norfolk; Mrs. Rosser 
Long, of Fayetteville, W.Va.; Mrs. Lyne Shackleford, of Orange; Mrs. Charles 
Conway, of Richmond, and Mrs. Hans Syz, of Green Farms, Conn.
The body will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church for services tomorrow at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s 
Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the funeral apartments tonight at 7:30 
o’clock.
