Walter Joseph Nee, aged 69, husband of Mrs. Julia Drewry Nee, and son of the 
late William and Mrs. Annie Turner Nee, died yesterday morning at 11:15 o’clock 
at a local hospital. Mr. Nee, a native of Portsmouth and a lifelong resident of 
this section, resided at 6218 Rolfe avenue, Edgewater. He was secretary of the 
Hampton Roads Transfer Company. Besides his wife, Mrs. Julia Drewry Nee, he is 
survived by a son, Walter Joseph Nee, Jr., of Norfolk; two daughters, Mrs. Burke 
Hickey, of Baltimore, Md., and Mrs. William C. Anderson, of Charleston, W. Va.; 
four brothers, Thomas R. Nee, of Norfolk; W. C. Nee, of Portsmouth; John R. Nee, 
of Jacksonville, Fla., and Marshall M. Nee, of Hartford, Conn.; nine 
grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Notice 
of funeral later.

Walter Joseph Nee - Remains of Mr. Nee, who died Monday at a local hospital, 
will be taken from the residence, 6218 Rolfe avenue, Edgewater, to Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church for funeral services tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock. Interment 
will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the residence 
tonight at 8 o’clock.
