                     Funeral of Mr. Samuel C. Nelson

The funeral service of this gentleman, who died on Saturday last, was conducted on 
Sunday afternoon by the Rev. C.W. Pettit, at the undertaking establishment of Mr. 
H.D. Oliver, and was attended by a large number of his friends and associates.  
The following gentlemen acted as pallbearers: Maj. L.B. White, Messrs. McD. L. 
Wrenn, Robert W. Whitehurst, W.B. Royster, N.W. Nicholas and T.B. Jackson.  The 
remains were interred in Elmwood Cemetery.
