Nelson, a veteran employee of the Merritt and Chapman Wrecking Company, having been in its service for many years. Captain Nelson had been under treatment of late in Baltimore for a complication of diseases and it was found necessary as a last resort to operate on him Saturday. His remains will arrive here this morning and will be taken to Berkley for funeral and interment where he resided. He is survived by a widow and two children. ***************************************************************** The funeral of Captain Charles L. Nelson took place yesterday afternoon from his residence, No. 205 Maple avenue, and was very largely attended. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. E.W. Cowling, rector of St. Thomas P.E. Church. The floral tributes were numerous and beautiful. The remains were laid to rest in Magnolia Cemetery and the following gentlemen acted as pallbearers: Captain W.S. Tooker, Captain J.B. Ransom, Captain John Johnson and Captain J. Carlson, of the Merritt & Chapman Wrecking Company and Captain W.H. French and Alex O. Calcott, of Berkley ward.
