Virginian-Pilot, April 13, 1962
NORFOLK - Clarence Earl Nelson, 59, husband of Mrs. Louise Alexander Nelson, 
died in a Norfolk hospital Thursday at 1:20 p.m.

Besides his widow, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ellen F. Archer, 
Mrs. Caroline Hedland and Mrs. Doris Fentress of Norfolk, two sons, Lawrence 
E. Nelson of Richmond and Nelson R. Howlett of Camp Lejeune, N.C.; a brother, 
Robert Nelson of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. Lorine Holt of Portsmouth; and 14 
grandchildren.

Mr. Nelson, a lifelong resident of Norfolk, lived at 3625 Sharpley Ave. He was 
a dispatcher for Yellow Cab Co.

A funeral service will be conducted in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Saturday at 
2 p.m. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
