                   Elbert Nevius, 78, Dies in Hospital

Elbert Nevius, 78, a retired jeweler of 1426 Garden St., died in a Ventura 
County hospital on Monday, it was learned today. He had been in the hospital for 
three years. 
Mr. Nevius was born in Locust Valley, N.Y. on June 18, 1872. His entire business 
life was spent in the East. He retired in 1939. He moved to Santa Barbara in 
October 1940.
Mr. Nevius never married.
He is survived by three brothers, Franklin of New York City, Condict of 
Rochester, N.Y. and Van Olinda Nevius of Norfolk, Va.
Private funeral services were held today at the Welch and Ryce Mortuary. 
Interment will be in the family plot in New York State.

Moved to Magnolia May 23, 1965 and ashes interred in vault with brother, Van 
Olinda Nevius.
