He was the husband of the late Mrs. Sadie Cox Nevius and a son of Benjamin C. and Mrs. Carolyn Hicks Nevius. He was a Spanish-American War veteran, a member of Virginia Beach Methodist Church, and an honorary member of its board of stewards. Surviving is a brother, Condit M. Nevius of New York. A funeral service will be held in Cox Funeral Home Sunday at 3 p.m. by the Rev. Beverly Felty of Virginia Beach Methodist Church. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad.
