Virginian Pilot, Saturday, Feb. 28,1920
John Theodore Newberry, 45, years old, died Thursday night at the residence of 
his father, T. F. Newberry, 105 Lee street, after an illness of eight months. 
He was born in Cartaret county, NC, and had lived here 30 years.  He was a son
of T. F. and the late Mrs. Elizabeth Roberts Newberry.  He is survived by his
father, his wife, Mrs. Blanch Latham Newberry and the following sisters and
brothers:  William T. Hill of Newbern, NC;  H. D. Newberry, L. E. Newberry and
Leonard H. Newberry of Berkley;  Mrs. Frank Simpson, of Newbern NC, and Mrs.
Charles O’Neal of Norfolk.

The funeral was conducted at the above residence at 4 p.m. yesterday by Rev. S.
J. Battin, pastor of Memorial Methodist church.  Burial was in Riverside cemetery.

The pallbearers were his brothers and brothers-in-law: William T. Hill, H. D.
Newberry, Leo A. Newberry, Lennon Newberry, F. T. Martell, Charles O’Neal.
