Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Friday, June 12, 1992 
Harold Eugene Newby of the 200 block of Brentwood Crescent, a retired director
of building and grounds, died June 10, 1992.

Mr. Newby was born in Norfolk. He had retired from Norfolk State University
after 13 years. He was a Navy veteran. He was a member of Bank Street Memorial
Baptist Church, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity and Fleet Reserve Association.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Newby; two stepdaughters, Carolyn Crenshaw
of Springfield, Va., and Sharon Warren of Norfolk; two sisters, Emogene N.
McArtis of Norfolk and Margaret N. Bradley of Columbia, Md.; a brother, Thomas
A. Newby of Portsmouth; and seven grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Bank Street Memorial
Baptist Church by the Rev. Joseph Dancy. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery .
Friends may join the family at the residence. The body will be placed in church
at 11:15 a.m. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
