Norfolk - A funeral service was held Tuesday for Mrs. Hattie Newby, 64, of 1606 
Selden avenue, in Wheeler Funeral Home. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Newby, who died in a nursing home, was a native of Norfolk and was a daughter 
of James and Mrs. Mary Smith and the widow of Henry Newby.

She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She is survived by a niece, Mrs. 
Effie Chavis.
