Watt Dell Newsome, waiter at the Monticello Hotel during the past two 
decades, died Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in a Norfolk hospital. He resided at 
426 East Charlotte Street.

Born in Sussex County during the latter part of the 19th century, he spent 
most of his life in this section.

He was a son of the late Rev. Benjamin Franklin Newsome and a nephew of the 
late Thomas Newsome, former Newport News lawyer.

Surviving are his wife, two sons, two half ssters and five half brothers.

Funeral services will be conducted today at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist 
Church, on East Bute Street. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
