Norfolk Journal and Guide, Jul 27,1963
Norfolk - Brownie Newsome, 70, of 1253 E. Princess Anne road, received final 
rites Sunday at Hale Funeral Home.  The Southampton native died July 17 in a 
Norfolk hospital.

The Rev. Richard A. Councill officiated at the service.  Burial was in Calvary 
Cemetery.

Mr. Newsome’s survivors include three sons, Samuel, James and George Newsome;  a 
sister, Mrs. Donia Hobbs; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
