Mrs. Blanche Newsome, a native of West Point, VA, died at her home at 2724 
Virginia Beach boulevard Saturday, March 28, following a long illness.  She 
was the daughter of the late William and Mrs. Fannie Moore of West Point, 
VA.
The deceased was a member of the United Order of Tents, Lily of the Valley 
Lodge No. 4, and was worthy grand past senior matron prior to her illness.

Mrs. Newsome was a member of the Four Leaf Clover Social and Savings Club 
and a member of New Calvary Baptist Church for a number of years.

The survivors are one son, Isaiah Newsome;  one daughter, Mrs. Fannie 
Bailey;  ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. 
Ernestine Gwynn and Mrs. Inez Jones, and other relatives.

Funeral service was held Wednesday, April 1 at 1 p.m. at New Calvary Baptist 
Church with the pastor, Elder Samuel A. Wilson, officiating.  Burial was in 
Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
