The funeral services of Mr. Eddie Newsome, who died Thursday in the Marine 
Hospital, were held Sunday, June third, at St. Paul C. M. E. Church. Revs. O. J. 
Allen and Williams officiated, and the pastor preached the funeral. Solos were 
rendered by Mrs. Madge Harris, “Some Sweet Day,” and Mr. Charlie Baker, “Just a 
Little While to Stay Here.” Condolences from the family and friends by Mrs. Ruth 
Jones. The Waldorf turned out in a body to pay the last respect to their brother. 
Floral tributes were many and beautiful. He is survived by a mother, one brother, 
and stepfather. Interment in Calvary Cemetery.
