The Virginian Pilot July 11, 1961
Ernest Judson Newton, 80, retired florist, died at his home, 796 W. 49th St., Monday at 6:10 a.m. He formerly owned the Marian Newton Florist business here. Son of Arthur I. and Annie Odend'hal Newton, he was a lifelong resident here and a member of Emanuel Episcopal Church, Kempsville. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Marian Stone Newton; a son, Emory Lee Newton of 
Norfolk; and a grandchild. The body will be taken from H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Emanuel Church for a funeral service to be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. C.L. 
McGinley.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
