Mr Nicholas was a native of Hickory Ground, Norfolk County, a son of the late Joshua and Mrs. Martha Nicholas, and is survived by his widow, Mrs. Amanda L, Nicholas; children, Mrs. B.F. Lassiter, Berkley; Mrs. C.F. .Eason, Hickory; H.L., R.P. and J. Grady Nicholas, of South Norfolk; a half brother, E.H. Sivills, of Berkley, and sister, Mrs. Sallie Forbes of New York City. Mr. Nicholas was one of the best known citizens of Norfolk County, he having spent half of his life in public office. He was for twenty-three years revenue commissioner of the Second district of the county, was supervisor of Washington Magisterial district eight years, chairman of the Norfolk County Republican committee, director in the Merchants and Planters Bank and member of Liberty Street Methodist Church. The funeral services will be conducted at his residence Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock and burial will be in the family lot in Magnolia Cemetery. ************************************************************** The funeral of L.M. Nicholas will be conducted at the residence, 12 Rogers Street, this afternoon at 3 o'clock by Rev. T.J.C. Heath pastor of the Liberty Street Church. Interment will be in the family lot in Magnolia Cemetery.
