Ingrid was born to Carl and Myrna Eicher in Kansas City, Missouri, on November 14, 1964. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Tom Nicholas; children, Sarah Mathis (Nick), Walter and Alan Nicholas; father, Carl Eicher; sister, Audrey Eicher Smith; many more extended family members and friends. Ingrid spent her formative years in Puerto Rico. Her love of her cultural heritage brought great joy to everyone she knew. Upon graduating from Penn State University in 1988, she married Tom and created wonderful family adventures in 8 Navy locations, including Panama and Italy. Her Spanish and Italian language abilities brought the world to her family's doorstep. Her love of people, food, fashion, and travel and her inner strength, faith, and independence were truly inspirational. She is preceded in death by her mother, Myrna Eicher. A mass of the resurrection for Ingrid will take place at 9:30 AM on Friday, May 7 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church (5345 Virginia Beach Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23462). A private burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The family has requested that a donation be made to St. Gregory's in Ingrid's name.
