Virginian Pilot Saturday February 14, 1903

Mrs. Alice Nichols, wife of James Nichols, departed this life on Wednesday night 
at the family residence near Hearing post office, after an illness of about eight 
days.  Deceased was a sister of Mr. L.F. Cason, a well-known resident of the 
county, and sister-in-law of Mr. L.N. Nichols, of South Norfolk.  The funeral took 
place from the Mt. Pleasant M.E. Church yesterday afternoon and the interment was 
made in Magnolia Cemetery.
