The Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark January 17, 1935
Mrs. Erin Virginia Nichols, aged 87, widow of Josephus A. Nichols, died at the 
residence of her daughter, Mrs. Oscar L. West, 435 West Thirtieth street, last 
night at 7 o'clock.  Besides her daughter she is survived by four sons, A.H., 
B.L., and J.E. Nichols, of Norfolk and L.W. Nichols, of Great Bridge; 23 
grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Nichols was a native and 
lifelong resident of Norfolk and was a member of the Christian Temple. 
The body was taken to the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home pending funeral 
arrangements.
