Nichols, 634 C 634 Connecticut Avenue, Apartment 2, yesterday afternoon at 3:15 o’clock after an il an illness of four years. Mr. Nichols was born in Norfolk county October 6, 1969, 1969, and had been a resident of Norfolk 47 years. He was the son of Joseph and Erin Erin Grenolds Nichols. For 42 years, he was one of Norfolk’s best known archi architects and building contractors and was admired for his honesty and integ integrity. Hundreds of homes were constructed under his supervision. Mr. Nicho Nichols retired from active business four years ago due to failing health. He was an active church worker and was a charter member of the Third Christian Chur Church, also of the Christian Temple when it was organized by the union of the Thir Third Church, Memorial Christian Temple, and Providence Christian Church. He had had been a member of the Board of Deacons and of the official board of the chur church since their organization. He was regular in his attendance in his Sunday scho school and in all the service of the church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lavinia Elizabeth Nichols; two daughters, Mrs. Edw Edward Albright, Richmond, and Mrs. Carroll V. Yeager, Norfolk; three sons, Ver Vernon L. Nichols, Lewis O. Nichols, and Roy G. Nichols, all of Norfolk; three bro brothers, A.H. and J.E. Nichols, Norfolk, and L.W. Nichols, Hickory; one sis sister, Mrs. O.L. West, Norfolk; four grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nep nephews. The body will be taken from the funeral home of E. Lee Cox & Bro. to the Ch Christian Temple for funeral services Thursday afternoon at 3 o’clock. The Rev. H. H.S. Hardcastle, pastor of the church; the Rev. Henry W. Tiffany, D.D., pastor of of the Park Place Baptist Church; the Rev. L.E. Smith, D.D., president of Elon Co College, N.C., and the Rev. Sidney W. Quong will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
