Virginian-Pilot February 10, 1939
Mrs. Hannah M. Nichols, age 83 years, widow of R. D. Nichols, a native of 
Germany and for the past 55 years a resident of Norfolk, where she was well 
known, died yesterday afternoon at 1 o’clock at the residence of her son, Harry 
O. Nichols, president of the Southern Bank of Norfolk, 1333 West Princess Anne 
road.
Mrs. Nichols is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Louis B. Montague and Mrs. 
George W. Culyer, of New York City, Mrs. C. C. Norfleet, of Washington, and Mrs. 
H. J. Hammel, of Chicago; one son, Mr. Nichols, and four grandchildren.
The body will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial 
avenue, to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for services tomorrow morning at 9 
o’clock. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Rosary services will be conducted at the chapel of the H. D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments, tonight at 7:15 o’clock.
