A native of Waverly, she was a daughter of Harrison and Mrs. Emma Thornton and the widow of Henry Nickerson. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Lamberts Point and organizer of Hope Bible Band. She was a member of the church's Pastor's Aid Society, Prayer Band, Sunday School, Widow's Club, and Wednesday Night Prayer Club. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Louise King of Norfolk. A funeral service was held in First Baptist Church, Lamberts Point, by the Rev. M. L. Williams. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. Hale Funeral Home had charge.
