Miss Nimmo, who taught in the city schools before 1910, began at Ruffner. In 1917 she transferred to Walter Herron Taylor Elementary, where she had a first grade class 35 years. Not a strict disciplinarian nevertheless her pupils paid attention and minded, an associate recalled. She taught sight reading long before it was introduced into the curriculum. Her nature study classes were abetted by "nature walks" about the neighborhood. She is survived by several cousins. The body was taken to H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk.
