Virginian Pilot Friday November 02,1900




Mr. Colin R. Nimmo, chairman of the Board of Supervisors of Norfolk county, 
passed away at his home, on the Princess Anne road, Wednesday, after a 
protracted illness, though the deceased was able to be out a few days ago. He 
was 42 years of age, and had represented Tanner's Creek district on the Board 
of Supervisors and was chairman at the time of his demise, a position he had 
held for the past six years. Mr. Nimmo was well known and highly esteemed in 
his native county. The funeral was held from the grave in Elmwood Cemetery at 4 
o'clock yesterday afternoon, and was attended by Norfolk Lodge No. 
38,B.P.O.Elks. Following were the pall-bearers: Judge W.N. Portlock, Wm. Tait, 
A.C. Cromwell, S.W. Lyons, Alvah H. Martin, E.W. Savage, B.W. Leigh and J.F. 
Coleman.
