The Norfolk Virginian Pilot Sunday September 19, 1954
Mrs. Maud Lura Nivens, 75, wife of William G. Nivens, of 1231 Edgewood Avenue, 
South Norfolk, died yesterday at 6:05 a.m. in a Norfolk hospital after an 
illness of one year.
A native of Gloucester County, she had lived in this section 35 years. Her 
parents were Frank and Mrs. Bernetta Blassingham.
She was a member of Armstrong Memorial Presbyterian Church, Berkley.
Besides her husband, surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Alice Nivens Steele and 
Mrs. Estelle Nivens Daily; one son, Lyman C. Nox Nivens, and seven 
grandchildren, all of South Norfolk.
The body was removed to the Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk, where 
funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in 
Magnolia Cemetery.
