Virginian Pilot October 15, 1902

Mrs. Ellen Nixon, late wife of Mr. Judson Nixon, died yesterday afternoon about 
6 o'clock at her home on Sixth Street. Mrs. Nixon had been ill for about nine 
weeks and at the time of her death was sixty-two years of age. She is survived 
by a husband and four children.  The funeral will be conducted from the 
residence this afternoon at 4 o'clock. Magnolia Cemetery will be the place of 
interment.

The funeral of Mrs. William U. Nixon, who died Tuesday, was conducted from the 
residence on Sixth Street yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock, Rev. A.J. Ramsey, 
pastor of Berkley Avenue Baptist Church, officiating.  The interment was in 
Magnolia Cemetery.  There were quite a number of persons in attendance.

Believe Judson was her son.  1900 census has William M. and Ellen Nixon, age 59. 
listed as parents of head of household, Judson.
