Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, January 21, 2004 
On Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, at DePaul Medical Center, the spirit of Naomi Nixon
vacated her earthly body to exist eternally with the heavenly host. Born and
raised in Lindenwood, she attended the public schools of Norfolk. At an early
age, as a result of parental training, Naomi accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord
and Savior and joined Metropolitan AME Zion Church. Through the years, she
faithfully served as a deaconess, a member of the Missionary Society, a
conference worker, a member of the Womens Fellowship Society and a member of the
Culinary Arts Committee.

Naomi was predeceased by her parents, James E. and Ebbie Nixon; sisters, Evelyn
Nixon and Annie M. Waller. She is survived by two sisters, two brothers and a
host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held at Metropolitan AME Zion Church, 1700 Springfield St., at
1 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends will
assemble at Graves Funeral Home at noon for the procession to the church.
