Born and raised in Lindenwood, she attended the public schools of Norfolk. At an early age, as a result of parental training, Naomi accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined Metropolitan AME Zion Church. Through the years, she faithfully served as a deaconess, a member of the Missionary Society, a conference worker, a member of the Womens Fellowship Society and a member of the Culinary Arts Committee. Naomi was predeceased by her parents, James E. and Ebbie Nixon; sisters, Evelyn Nixon and Annie M. Waller. She is survived by two sisters, two brothers and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at Metropolitan AME Zion Church, 1700 Springfield St., at 1 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at Graves Funeral Home at noon for the procession to the church.
