VIRGINIA BEACH - Mrs. Mary Noona, 87, of 5709 Normandy Ave., the widow of Leo A. 
Noona and a native of Damscus, Syria, died Monday in her home.
She lived in this area since 1961 and was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic 
Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Noona Ferrari of Virginia Beach 
and Mrs. Margaret Larrimore of Newport News; a son, Walter L. Noona Sr., of 
Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Victoria Betor of Norfolk and Mrs. Angie Joynes of 
Virginia Beach; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
A Christian Wake service will be said tonight at 7 in H. D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments, Norfolk. A Joyful Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 
Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Matthew’s Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary’s 
Cemetery. The family will be at 505 Avalon Ave., Virginia Beach.
