Virginian-Pilot March 24, 1961
NORFOLK — Wallace Wilson (Fleet) Norfleet, 75, former assistant purser on the old 
Chesapeake & Ohio steamer ferry Virginia, died Thursday at 2:35 a m. in his home, 
817 W. 52nd St.
A native of Whaleyville, he lived in Norfolk 40 years. He was the husband of Mrs. 
Genevieve Cosgrove Norfleet and a son of Wilson and Mrs. Clara Hunter Norfleet.
Besides his widow, surviving are nieces and nephews.
The Rosary will be recited in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments tonight at 7:30. A 
funeral service will be held in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Saturday at 11 
a.m., with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
