She was born in Aurora, N.C., to the late Ernest and Eliza Gibbs. She was the widow of Dave Norman. She was a member of St. John's A.M.E. Church, Norfolk, where she was president of the Brock Hunter Fellowship Group and former president of The Whatsoever Circle. She was a member of the Stewardess and Usher boards. She was a past worthy matron of Queen Esther Chapter No. 2, Order of the Eastern Star, P.H.A., a member of Norfolk Temple No. 1, and a Daughter of the Elks I.B.P.O.E. She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Alice Hill and son-in-law, George Hill, of Norfolk; two brothers, James R. Moore and sister-in-law, Syme, and Henry R. Moore Jr. and sister-in-law, Flora Moore, all of Norfolk; granddaughter, Leola Stutton; two great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren, all of Norfolk; a host of other relatives and friends; and a special adopted daughter, Sherri Pitt. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hale Funeral Home. A funeral will be conducted at noon Friday at St. John's A.M.E. Church, 545 E. Bute St., Norfolk, with the Rev. Larry S. Hinton presiding. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery .
