He was 29 years old. Prior to his connection with the Norfolk Southern, Mr. Norris was chief clerk to the superintendent of transportation of the Seaboard Air Line Railway. He was regarded as a competent railroad man and was held in high esteem by the officials of the Norfolk Southern, as well as by the employees working under him in the transportation department, and those with whom he was thrown in contact. A widow, Mrs. Carrie Cooper Norris, survives him, as well as a daughter, Ruth Cooper Norris and his mother, Mrs. Julia Norris, who resides in this city. Two sisters, Mrs. George A. Campbell and Mrs. S.L. Knight, wife of Dr. Knight, of Merrill, Miss., also survive him, as well as a brother, W.E. Norris, of Hamlet, N.C. Mr. Norris held membership in the First Presbyterian Church, where the funeral service will take place at 4 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Burial will take place in Magnolia Cemetery, Berkley.
