Funeral services for John Northington, 61, of 1416 W 42nd street were held 
recently at the First Baptist Church, Lamberts Point with the Rev. H. H. Bobbitt 
officiating.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. Northington died last Friday in a Washington, DC, hospital after a long 
illness.

He was the son of James and Mrs. Ida Northington and the husband of Mrs. Carrie 
Northington.  A native of Norfolk, he had worked for a Washington tailoring firm 
for 12 years.

He was a member of a Washington Masonic Lodge, and the Metropolitan Baptist 
Church here.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Barry Northington of Washington;  a 
sister, Miss Esther Northington of Norfolk;  one brother, James Northington, and 
a step-brother, James Wilson, both of Norfolk.
