Miss Mary Ellen Nowlan, age 83 years, daughter of the late John and Mrs. Bridget 
Murphy Nowlan, a native of Jersey City, N.J., and a resident of Norfolk for 
practically her entire life, died at 9:55 o’clock yesterday morning at a local 
hospital. Miss Nowlan was a sister of the late William F. Fallon. She is survived 
by a niece, Mrs. J. J. Larkin, of Norfolk. Remains will be taken from H. D. 
Oliver’s Funeral Apartments, 610-12 East Freemason street, to St. Mary’s Catholic 
Church for services Saturday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment will be in St. 
Mary’s Cemetery.
