Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark May 27, 1935

Mrs. Annie Holland Nugent, aged 74, widow of Thelly Nugent, and daughter of 
James T. and Aurelia Heath Holland, died at the residence of her brother, James 
T. Holland, 738 East Twenty-seventh Street, yesterday afternoon at 1:45 o'clock. 
Mrs. Nugent was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk. She is survived by 
one sister, Mrs. H. Austin; a brother, Mr. Holland; an adopted son, C.Q. Nugent; 
four stepdaughters, Mrs. R.M. Johnakin, Mrs. L.V. White, Mrs. E.T. Dyer, and 
Mrs. V.C. Carson and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Baptist Tabernacle, of which Mrs. Nugent 
was a member, tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, with the Rev. E.F. Chauncey, 
the pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
