She was a native of Russia but had been a resident of Norfolk for the past three years. She was employed as a waitress at the Belmont Restaurant at the time of her death. Surviving her are her parents, George and Mrs. Katherine Nyznyk and two sisters, Misses Mary Ann and Amastazia Nyznyk, all of Butternut, Wis. The body was removed to the funeral chapel of James V. Derry, Colley and Harrington Avenues, pending completion of funeral arrangements. ******************************************************************************** NYZNYK, MISS EDITH - At a local hospital, Sunday night, March 5, 1939, at 6:45 o’clock, MISS EDITH NYZNYK, beloved daughter of George and Mrs. Katherine Nyznyk, in the 22nd year of her age. Funeral services will be conducted THIS (Wednesday) MORNING at 10 o’clock from the funeral chapel of James V. Derry, 1920 Colley avenue, corner Harrington. Friends of the family invited to attend. Burial, St. Mary’s Cemetery. Norfolk Virginian-Pilot March 8, 1939 ******************************************************************************** Miss Edith Nyznyk - Funeral services for Miss Nyznyk, who died Sunday night, were conducted yesterday morning at 10 o'clock at the funeral chapel of James V. Derry, and were largely attended. Father Paul V. Heller, assistant pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, officiated. There were many floral offerings, the casket being covered with a double spray of roses, carnations and fern. Pallbearers were R.E. Flora, Edward Fraim, J.B. Garrenton, Thomas Downing, W.J. Cannon, A.E. Hall and W.R. Friel. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery.
