Norfolk Virginian Pilot December 13, 1943

Miss Bridget Elizabeth Oakes, aged 66, daughter of the late Felix and Mrs. Mary 
Oakes, a lifelong resident of Norfolk, died at the residence of her sister, Mrs. 
Josephine Wallace, 1250 West Forty-ninth Street, last night at 8:45 o'clock. 
Surviving her are four sisters, Mrs. Katherine Padula, Mrs. Margaret Matweenko, 
Mrs. Eloise Miskill and Mrs. Josephine Wallace, all of Norfolk; and one brother, 
Felix Oakes, of Brooklyn, N.Y.
The body will be taken from the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Blessed 
Sacrament Catholic Church, of which Miss Oakes was a member, for funeral 
services Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
