Felix Oakes died last night, at 8:30 o’clock at his home, 423 Princess Anne 
avenue. He is survived by a widow, eight children, a brother, Peter Oakes, of 
Portsmouth, and two sisters, Mrs. Loughran, of New York, and Mrs. Annie Platto, of 
Norfolk.
Mr. Oakes had been a resident of Norfolk for thirty-five years. He was a keeper of 
the Hebrew cemetery for thirty years.
He was for some years a member of the volunteer fire department before Norfolk had 
a paid department.

OAKES - At the residence, No. 423 Princess Anne avenue, on Tuesday, February 25, 
1908, at 8:30 o’clock p.m., FELIX OAKES, Sr.
Funeral services from St. Mary’s Catholic Church TOMORROW (Friday) MORNING at 10 
o’clock. Friends of the family are invited to attend.
