Virginian Pilot Tuesday, April 12,1983
Norfolk - Mildred Clarke Oast of Pembroke Towers, a native of Covington and the 
widow of Dr. John Wendell Oast III, died Thursday in a hospital.
She had retired as a registered nurse and was a member of Christ and St. Luke’s 
Episcopal Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. James B. Sommers Jr. of Charlotte, N.C, 
and Mrs. John Fyfe Jr. of Hawaii; a son, James Franklin Oast of Virginia Beach; 
a sister, Mrs. Frederick Farnsworth, and a brother, Julian Clarke, both of 
Florida; and six grandchildren.
The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Elmwood Cemetery by 
the Rev. James B. Samuel Jr. H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, is in 
charge.
