Virginian-Pilot January 8, 1942
Sister Veronica Oatis, aged 74, daughter of the late Bernard and Mrs. Margaret 
Kelly Oatis, a native of Long Island. N.Y., and a resident of this section for 24 
years, died yesterday morning at 7:30 o’clock at St. Vincent’s Hospital. She is 
survived by two sisters, in the Sisterhood, a brother, Charles Oatis, of Brooklyn, 
N.Y., and a niece, Mrs. Marion Halpin, of Long Island, N.Y.
Funeral services will be held at the hospital chapel Saturday morning at 9 
o’clock. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
