Norfolk Journal and Guide, May 24, 1969
Norfolk - A funeral service for Robert N. Obey of 7100 Gregory drive was held
May 22 at St. John AME Church.  The Rev. Albert R. Powell officiated.

A native of Henderson NC, he was the widower of Mrs. Ellen Obey and the son of
the late Joseph Obey and Mrs. Sarah Obey.

He was a self-employed tailor and a member of the Community Democratic Club,
Tidewater Frontier of America, Inc., and the Masonic Lodge.  He was also a
member of St. John AME.

Surviving is his sister, Mrs. Minnie A. Banks of Norfolk.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge.
