Norfolk - Marie Cannon O'Brien, 82, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2014. Born 
in Norfolk at St. Vincent 's Hospital, she was the daughter of the late Peggy and 
Michael Cannon and was the eldest of eight siblings.

Marie attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and graduated from Holy Trinity 
School, Class of 1950. She was a waitress that was well known for her wonderful 
service at establishments such as the Golden Triangle, Smith & Welton's Tearoom, 
and The Trolley in Downtown Norfolk. She was greatly loved and will be truly 
missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory is her four daughters, Kathy Nicholson and her husband, 
Hunter Lee, Debbie Winn, Judy Gallant, and Pam O'Brien; two sons, Danny and Kevin 
O'Brien; four sisters, Patsy Murrell, Jean Musick, Ann Gelardi, and Terry Morton; 
a brother, John Cannon and his wife, Ila Ann; thirteen grandchildren, seven great 
grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a 
daughter, Gail Woodall; a sister, Micky Dougherty; and a brother, Joe Cannon.

The family will receive friends at a visitation on Tuesday evening from 7 until 9 
p.m. at the Norfolk Chapel of H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts. A graveside funeral 
service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 18, at 3 p.m. in St. Mary's Catholic 
Cemetery with Father Daniel Klem officiating. Online condolences may be offered to
