Norfolk Virginian Pilot September 13, 1942

George L. O'Brien, aged 56 years, husband of Mrs. Mattie Sawyer O'Brien and son of 
the late Alex A. and Mrs. Linnie Tennelle O'Brien, died at a local hospital 
yesterday afternoon at 2:07 o'clock. Mr. O'Brien was a lifelong resident of 
Norfolk. Besides his wife, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Alice Margiotta; two 
brothers, Ryland M. and Alex O'Brien, and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Walter Jenkins, all 
of Norfolk. Funeral services will be held at the chapel of the H.D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments, 1501 Colonial Avenue, Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be 
in Elmwood Cemetery.
