NORFOLK - Catherine Carroll O’Brien, 71, of 940 W. Princess Anne Road, a native of 
Portsmouth, died Saturday in a hospital. She was retired from Seaboard Railroad 
and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Guild.
Survivors include a sister, Regina O’Brien McPadden of Annandale, a brother, 
William J. O’Brien of Virginia Beach, and nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be said at 7:30 p.m. today in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. 
Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. H.D Oliver 
Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, is in charge. The family asks that flowers be 
omitted. Memorial donations may be made to Virginia Beach Rescue Squad.
