Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 10 a. m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ocean View, of which Father Robert B. Kealey is pastor, and interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Rosary services will be conducted at the residence, 1238 East Ocean View avenue, tonight at 8 o’clock. The son of the late Thomas Joseph and Mary (Rudolph) O’Connor, he was born in Norfolk July 27, 1898. After attendance at St. Mary’s Male Academy and graduation from Maury High School, he attended Catholic University in Washington. Publicized in Britain Before his connection with Merrimack Park, owned and operated by the Housing Authority of the City of Norfolk, Mr. O’Connor was connected with the Southern Bank of Norfolk at Ocean View and was in the real estate business. Manager of the housing project since its opening in 1940, he also assisted the housing authority in a supervisory capacity when other projects were opened. Some of his innovations at Merrimack Park were incorporated in other projects over the country and one of them was publicized in a British housing magazine. He was a past president of the Ocean View Lions Club and was a member of the Holy Name Society of Holy Trinity Church, the Ocean View Golf Club, the Princess Anne Country Club and the Cavalier Gun Club. He had many outdoor diversions, including golf and hunting, but in skeet shooting he excelled. He participated in many state and national meets, and in 1935 was State singles champion. He participated also in bowling and was in several Little Theatre plays. He is survived by a sister. Miss Mary O’Connor, of Norfolk.
