The Norfolk Virginian Pilot Tuesday May 29, 1945
Mrs. Lois Winifred Odell, 61, died yesterday at 3:41 a.m. at her residence, 
1002 Rowland Avenue, Portlock, after an illness of three years.
A native of Monroe County, N.Y., she had made her home here for 42 years, and 
was a daughter of the late Chauncey Azor and Lois Newton Odell and the widow of 
Frank Curtis Odell.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Clyde Carhart, Jr., of Norfolk, and Mrs. 
Winslow Downing, of Portlock; two sons, Howard Odell, of Portsmouth, and Sergt. 
Earl Odell, USA; one sister, Miss Ruby Odell, of Newark, N.J.; three brothers, 
Arthur G. Odell, of Hilton, N.Y. Newton Odell, of Rochester, N.Y., and Homer 
Odell, of Springfield, Mass.; and six grandchildren.
The body was removed to Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk, where funeral 
services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.  Burial will be in 
Elmwood Cemetery.
