She was known as ``Aunt Helen.'' Born in Norfolk County, she retired in 1977 from food service with the Norfolk Public School System after five years of service. She was a member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church, Norfolk, the Senior Choir, Floral Club, Beautification Club, and Bible Study Class. She was also a member of Blooming Light Chapter No. 111, O.E.S., and was a graduate of Oakwood High School. She was the daughter of the late Roxanna F. Odom and the late Alexander Odom. Survivors include four nieces, Quovadis Blackburn of Punta Gorda, Fla., Vernice McCoy of Newport News, Esther M. Gray and Vernell M. Gray of Norfolk; a nephew, Richard Blackburn; and a host of other relatives. A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, Kennedy St., Norfolk, by Dr. Raymond Dean. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . T.E. Cooke-Twilight Funeral Home is in charge. Viewing of the remains will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday prior to the funeral.
