Born in Norfolk County, he was the senior member of one of the county's oldest families. He operated the T H Old Sr. Real Estate Agency for about 60 years. He was one of the first licensed real estate agents in Norfolk County. Later he became a broker and land developer. He was a Methodist. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Lula Old Smith, Mrs. Mary Anne Old Wilhelm, and Mrs. Sarah Bessie Old Harrell, and two sons, James Martin Old and Thomas Hydren Old Jr., all of Chesapeake; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great- grandchildren. A funeral will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Twiford Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge, by the Rev. Johnny L. Halsey. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk. The family will be at the funeral home Friday night from 7 to 9 for visitation. They will assemble at the funeral home at 9 a.m. Saturday.
